This fantastic weekend break takes in the some of the best that County Durham and the North East has to offer. We visit the "Land of the Prince Bishops" - Durham with its amazing history, stunning cathedral, magnificent castle and cobbled streets, where stylish boutiques and quirky craft shops jostle for attention alongside big name brands. We also include a visit to Beamish the exciting open air, living museum encapsulating life in the North East in the early 1800's and 1900's. All of this plus the stunning and historic City of York will make this a weekend to remember

Day One
En-route to our hotel we enjoy free time in the lovely City of York, visit the Minster, take a sail on the River, visit one of the many museums or simply stroll the historic streets

Day Two
After breakfast we travel into Durham to spend the full day at leisure, explore the historic streets, take a walk along the River and you simply must visit the Cathedral & Castle which are part of a World Heritage Site. For those who cant manage the steep walk there is a bus service running from the town to the Cathedral for a small charge

Day Three
This morning we head to the Beamish Museum. Entrance is included and once inside the 300 acre site, see costumed actors bring to life North East England in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian times as you visit the Town, Pit Village, Home Farm and Pockerley Old Hall. We leave Beamish mid afternoon to travel back to the North West for approx. 6.30pm
