Billed as being one of the most terrifying of live theatre experiences, The Woman In Black will literally have you fixed to the edge of your seat as you watch the spine-chilling drama unfold before your eyes.

Apart from the mysterious Woman In Black, the other main character is Arthur Kipps who is required to visit Eel Marsh House and attend the funeral of Mrs Alice Drablow, the owner of the house. At the funeral, Arthur has his first glimpse of a shadowy figure of a young woman dressed entirely in black. Arthur then proceeds to stay in the house as he sorts out the owner's documents. During his stay, he is overwhelmed by a feeling of extreme unease and that all is not well at Eel Marsh House. This uneasiness is not helped by the locals determination not to talk about The Woman In Black and her chilling intentions. The play focuses upon the conversations that took place between Arthur Kipps, as an old man, and an actor as Arthur attempts to exorcise the ghosts of the past.

Similar to The 39 Steps, the cast for The Woman In Black only features 4 actors who end up performing a play within a play as separate characters – confusing but fascinating all the same. The main feature of The Woman In Black is the rocking chair which eerily creaks throughout the play adding to the sheer terror and suspense for the audience. The question is has Arthur managed to exorcise the demons or is The Woman In Black still around?

Theatre breaks to see The Woman In Black start from only £174 per person and each package includes: return coach travel (except for self-drive), overnight accommodation in a quality hotel, hotel-to-venue transfers, free time in London plus theatre tickets to see The Woman In Black with the option to upgrade to better seats.

The purpose of being scared is to promote survival. To quote Charles Darwin "Fear is an ancient response that has been untouched by the modern civilisation".
