London’s hottest new musical hits the West End! Motown the Musical tells the story of one man who became everyone’s music. Motown the Musical follows the career of Berry Gordy as he creates his musical empire ‘Motown Records’.

The story begins in 1983 on the 25th Anniversary of Motown and Berry Gordy is looking back on his career. After a few years working on Detroit’s automobile production line, Gordy sets his sights on bring the USA together with music. Gordy received an $800 loan to create his music making factory and Motown Records was born.

He signed a number of ground-breaking music artists and launched the careers of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles and more.

Things change as the Vietnam War looms and America finds itself at a cultural turning point, Gordy realises the time has come to make music even bigger than he had dreamed to make music that could get the whole world grooving to the same beat.

With over 40 classic songs featured including ‘Dancing in the Street’, ‘My Girl’, ‘I Heard it Through the Grapevine’ and ‘Ain’t no Mountain High Enough’. You’ll be toe tapping the whole way through!
